Rousseau is famous for his skill in disguises which is on a par with Lupin and Twenty Faces but, his true identity is just an elementary school boy! With his disguises and super reflexes, he is now on the move once again!
One day, something big happened. A case that involved the classmate that Rousseau loves, Seine! It’s time for Phantom Thief Rousseau to get on the case!
In school, a detective named Pocchari was getting a lot of attention. He was a famous detective who could solve any case in the blink of an eye. Even Rusou’s friends Shinbun and Pochi thought they were mesmerized by the presence of the detective.
Until the day he appeared, Phantom Thief Rousseau was the popular one but, now his image was fading and Rusou was no longer interested in continuing his role.
But there was something odd about that detective Pocchari. That plump body, those suspicious eyes and the large sums of money he earned simply wasn’t normal.
It was then that one day, Pocchari waited outside the school gates to kidnap Seine! Now Seine’s been caught into trouble.
Glaring at Pocchari, Rousseau knew that he had something to do with Seine’s disappearance. And so, it was time for him to take up his role again to reveal Pocchari’s evil deeds!
So what is Pocchari’s true identity and what is to become of Seine-chan?

When playing with a brand new game card, you will only have one option and that’s to start a new game. Once you’ve started playing and cleared a few stages, you will have the following options:

??? [Extra]
Selecting Continue will give the options, “Load a Saved File” and “Select a Chapter”.
Starting a new game will allow you to choose to play the game in normal mode or easy mode. Easy mode will give you guidelines when drawing disguises while normal doesn’t.
The following is a list of options that appear in the in-game menus:
???? [Items] => ??? [Inventory] / ?? [Photos], ?? [Information].
Other common buttons are ?? [Go Back] and ?? [Go to].
While most of the game is played via the touchscreen, the buttons do serve a purpose.
Pressing Start will give you the options to Save and Load a game.
Pressing Select will give you the following options:
Difficulty: Normal / Easy
Disguise Cutscenes: Long / Short
Fast Forward Settings: 1 Panel / Continuous
Finally, pressing R will allow you to go back to view previous scenes during the game while L will move forward. You can also fast forward scenes by holding your stylus down on the circle that appears in the bottom-right corner if you’ve seen the scene already. Very handy for timed situations and when the Fast Forward setting is set to Continuous!
The most important ability a phantom thief must have is to make himself disappear when he needs to.
Before you can disguise yourself as someone or something, you will need its data first which is usually collected by taking a picture. This is done by visiting the appropriate place and tapping the camera icon that appears in the top-right hand corner. Once Rousseau’s taken a picture of an object or person, you’ll receive a card which you use to help disguise yourself later or solve puzzles.

Once you have the required data, you must tap the Disguise Icon that appears in the top-right corner. You then select a picture to disguise yourself as.
After you’ve selected a picture, you must then start drawing it using the provided tools. The screen looks similar to the one below:

Following the grid lines, you must copy the sample picture on the top screen as accurately as possible to complete your disguise. Once you’ve completed it, a rating will be given from A to C. Depending on how well you match the sample picture, you may draw suspicion from Rousseau’s enemies which could result in a game over. But usually it’s fairly easy to match so not too much to worry about.
There will be times when you may freely draw your own disguise without the need for any data.
While Rousseau’s disguise is his first line of stealth, you can also encounter people who want to confirm your identity. At this point, you’ll have to answer a series of questions which can also increase the suspicion meter if you get the answers wrong.
Besides disguising, Rousseau must also overcome various obstacles during his activities such as security pads and guards as well as gathering information. When being chases by guards, you can make Rousseau use the environment he’s in to get away such as tapping on a ceiling light. You know when you have to look for such escape routes when Rousseau’s Icon appears in the bottom-right corner.
Rusou Kaidou
An elementary five student who is energetic and has a strong sense of justice. Normally he acts just like any other elementary student but behind that face, he is actually the Phantom Thief Rousseau. Of course, he keeps it a secret.
Rousseau’s grandfather was the legendary Phantom Thief Million Mask that shook the world.
He too was a thief of justice and people everywhere were grateful to him.
It’s been near 20 years since he’s disappeared now but, his brave tales still live on as novels and on television.
Phantom Thief Rousseau
Rousseau is a thief that only steals from the bad and even then, he only takes back the items the bad guys have stolen in some evil deed.
He just began his role but rumours about him are already spreading around town slowly.
Although Rousseau is swift and full of energy, he’s a very absent minded person too. He always gets himself into a pinch and his clumsiness makes him fail in reaching his goal sometimes. But this is where his great reflexes and will to win helps him out.
When Rousseau is on the move, he changes into his yellow suit. On it he has various gadgets attached; on his arm is a communicator, there’s a glove that can send out smoke, a case on his back that carries various items such as a mask that helps him with his disguises and a pair of night vision goggles on his head that also acts as a camera.
Million Mask
Rousseau’s grandfather, 65 years old.
Once a famous phantom thief that shook the whole of Japan. However, as he steals only from scoundrels, the police never bothered him and he became a legend.
Said to have a million faces, no one surpasses his skill in diguises. It seems he has retired from his place for near 20 years now and his whereabouts are unknown.
Seine Kawamoto
An elementary year five student and a classmate of Rousseau’s.
She’s cheerful, likes to help people and is the school idol. There are always lots of people around with her. Rousseau secretly admires her (?).
Getting herself caught in some big incident, she gets rescued by Phantom Thief Rousseau.
Phantom Thief Seine
Being saved by Rousseau, Seine decides to join him as his partner. Of course, this is a secret kept by the two of them.
Wearing a uniform, she acts as Phantom Thief Seine, always there to backup Rousseau. Seine stays in the base gathering information and giving Rousseau advice through his communicator. After teaming up together, Rousseau’s activities began to gain more attention. Seine gained some pride from knowing that.
Daisy Hensoude
Someone that possesses the supernatural power to make anything disappear. Dartz appears as Banishing Casey’s rival, bringing everything she makes disappear back again. Just who could she be?
Kubaru Shimon (AKA Shinbun) & Yasutomo Inukai (AKA Pochi)
Both are elementary year five students and are Rousseau’s friends. Together they always hang around with Rousseau.
Shinbun is a young boy who loves journalism and using his camera so he is always looking about for the latest scoop. Pochi on the other hand is the son of a policeman but, he himself isn’t very reliable.
Sensei Chaba
The teacher for Rousseau’s class who is hotblooded and enthusiastic. He always watching Rousseau, ready to give him a lecture. Students fear his special move, the Flaming Regent when he gives lectures.
Investigator Inukai
Pochi’s father and also Rousseau’s best friend. He keeps the peace in town.
Gessori
The name (skinny) was given to him because of his appearance. Real name Fushimi Nanao. Whenever he sees detective Pocchari, he cries out angrily calling him a fraudster. What could have happened between him and the detective?
Town’s Ramen Shop Owner
His name’s Koshi-san who loves nothing more than his Ramen. He won’t talk if you don’t buy his Ramen.
Onigiri-san
An onimous person who loiters around the front of the town’s station.
Pharmacy Girl
Miyuki Kusuri, 23 years old and looking.
Detective Pocchari
A very popular detective who can solve any case in the blink of an eye. Even so, his eyes and activities make him a suspicious character. He is up to something.
Vanishing Casey
A girl who possesses supernatural powers and is the centre of attention. She goes around town performing using her powers, making various physical objects disappear. But does a power like that really exist?
One Eyed Tatsu
A security guard who never lets anything suspicious pass him and so far, his record remains unbroken. Even though he’s a security guard, he dresses up like some Western cowboy movie. But his cowboy dressup isn’t fake and he can use his gun pretty well. Even Rousseau is overwhelmed when he draws his gun.
Toosanzoh No. 1
A security robot which guards the routes to important areas. It is configured to recognize the face of passerbys and opening fire on anyone it doesn’t recognise. It’s ammo is a large quantity of mallets!
After the intro scene, touch the green Start button then select your difficulty level, Normal or Easy. As you’ll see from the pictures, normal won’t give you guidelines when drawing disguises while easy does.

Notice: Tonight at 1:30AM, I will come to rescue the beautiful Princess Seine that you have locked up in your mansion under the name of justice.

It’s Rousseau! He got in!
Rousseau:

- Answer yes and tap the lighted up window.
- Move on through the dialogues then answer (Yes/No), Yes to finish off the tutorial. You’ll now have the tutorial unlocked for practice under the Bonus menu.

Oh man!

- Tap the guard’s face and the tutorial about the Disguise Icon will appear. Answer (Yes/No), No to skip the tutorial.
- Now draw the guard’s face to disguise yourself. Once you’re ready, tap the bottom left button and answer (Yes/No) Yes you’re finished.

Recently, she’s gone to the popular theme park in Bottakuri Town to perform her shows to the public. She is making large nearby buildings disappear in an instant.

- Once you’re back in Area 2, select the third topic to make Gessori talk to the mascot.

- Go speak to Shabekuri in Area 2. Choose the only topic there is and she’ll start speaking at high speed again. If you scroll back, you’ll learn Bottarkuri has a mouth shaped like Mount Fuji.
- Now go to Area 3 and scare Bikkuri off again. Tap the big chestnut haunted house and wait a while. Bikkuri will start popping out randomly. Tap him and you’ll be able to ask him about Bottakuri. He tells you Bottakuri has round circular eyes and does a bit of advertising about a drug he’s using that can help keep you awake.
- Tap Bikkuri again and tap his white square shoulder pads to get the drug.
- Go to Area 1 where Yukkuri is then go into your inventory to use the new pads. Speak to Yukkuri about the only topic to learn Bottakuri has millipede eyebrows.
- Now that you have all 3 details, go to the entrance ??????, go outside ???? and into the special events tower ????.
- Go to items and use the communicator. Pick the first option to say you’ve gathered the data for the disguise.
- Pick the first pair of eyebrows, third pair of eyes and then the third mouth. Once the photo’s been done, select the first option to say that it’s fine. Now disguise yourself with the new photo.

Are you here for the Lookalike Contest?
Rousseau:
Yes.
Receptionist:
Then allow me to take a quick check.
- After he finishes looking at you, Seine calls to let Rousseau know that he has to win this contest in one go. If he doesn’t win then it’s game over so, if you’re not confident about your drawing, choose the second option and compose the picture again. You could also save your game at this point.
- Once you do win, Bottakuri himself comes on stage to present the tickets. He tries to charge Rousseau but, Rousseau doesn’t get it’s a joke. A definition appears explaining what “Bottari” (Ripoff) means and again, Bottakuri tries to charge for the lesson. Select the second option to play along and chapter 2 ends. Save your game (Yes/No).

- Now go to Area 3, you’ll notice a pair of legs sticking to the bottom-right of the big lighted chestnut. Tap them and they won’t respond. Use the wand you got earlier to tickle them.

My advice is to hold your stylus down on the rotating circle in the bottom-right corner whenever you can to speed up Rousseau’s dialogue.
- Tap the Yukkuri chestnut crackers to the right. Tatsu will close his eyes for a few seconds to enjoy the crackers slowly.
- Quickly tap the arrow then, the switches box above where the crackers were.
- Tap the box to open it then, tap the set of switches to the top-right to zoom in.
- Tap the bottom-left blue tag that says elevator ????????.
- Tap the On button.

This part is fairly hard as getting a grade B will increase the meter by 20% while a C will increase the meter and make you re-draw. You’ll have to get a minimum grade B for each object to make it through.
- The key is getting the parts done in the right order. I recommend saving after each drawing if you done well.
- For each object, Rousseau will disguise himself and then only pop his face out. You’ll be drawing a melon, a fish and a remote control car after the TV. Finally you’ll try making a person reappear.

- Go inside the corridor where you overheard Bottakuri’s meeting.
- Tap the door with Bottari’s alien face, twice to go inside.
- Press the button next to the elevator and you’ll hear a strange sound. Pick the first option to take the elevator up to level 2.
- Now use the security pad on the new door. After you enter the first set of numbers, more numbers will start scrolling. Enter them as you see them and the door will open.
- Rousseau peeks inside to find the a group of aliens. Disguise yourself as the elevator button by tapping it.
Rousseau:
Wonder if this will work?
Kettle Alien:
Man, our President’s terrible calling us out here all of a sudden.
“Come help install new security equipment up on the second floor!” he says.
Grey Alien:
Yeah.
But now with the new security here on the second floor…
It’s going to be much harder to get in than the first.
Kettle Alien:
Well, all you need to get through the first door are keys after all, hahahaha!
Rousseau:

- Tap the Sakasamiel machine until it’s destroyed.

- Disguise yourself as the Picasso style alien, the one with half a girl’s face and half a boy’s face. Then go into the conference room to the right.
Shoe Alien:

Lets get this Rousseau counterplan started!
- He wants you to go collect the Rousseau data files. Go inside the planning office to the right and grab the yellow, purple and blue folders.
- Notice that the Hotdog poster nearest the door is peeling off. Tap the top-right corner to take it down.
- Return to where Shoe is and tap the right part of the wall where a poster used to be.
- Use the Hotdog poster to paste it there then take a picture. Rousseau will ask if it’s good or not. Pick the second choice to say it’s good.
- If you want, use the yellow documents with Shoe to hear what counterplans he had in mind.
Shoe Alien:
I’m sure you’ve heard already but, Rousseau’s inside this UFO! We have to come up with a counterplan quick!
Those are the boss’ orders so we have to think quick!

- Go back outside to the two doors and use the new disguise.
- Speak to the doors and choose the first choice to let them verify Rousseau’s face. They then let him in.
Rousseau:
We’re finally in the enemy’s secret room.
Seine:
Congratulations, Rousseau! You’ve can finally get proof!
Rousseau:
Yeah!
Now all I have to do is expose all this evidence and Bottakuri Businesses will be finished.

- Tap the little box on top of the cupboard and disguise yourself as it quickly.
- Next, tap on the square box at the bottom of the robot and use Rousseau’s picture on it.
Bottakuri:
Why are the missiles coming this way?!
Bottakuri’s robot gets blown to pieces.
Rousseau:
Alright! I done it!
Bottakuri:
How dare you… I can’t lose…
This isn’t finished yet.

- For this part, you have 2 minutes do the following and escape.
- First you’ll have to draw the blue code card no. 1 to open two doors. While you’re drawing, each door will shake now and then.
- Next the lights will go out when Rousseau reaches the door. Get your stylus positioned at where the door handle is before the lights go out to save you randomly hitting the screen.

Disguise Album will allow you to review all the objects and characters Rousseau tried to disguise himself as. You can re-challenge yourself at each one to try and get a better grade.

Finally, Disguise Trial will have you testing your drawing skills against One Eyed Tatsu. He will give you a random character or object to complete within a set amount of time.
As in the main game, each of your disguises will receive a ranking once the time runs out. When Tatsu is judging you, an A rank removes 5% from the suspicion bar, B increases it 20% and C by 30%.
You will also notice a Seine Icon to the top-right. If you tap it, Seine will be the judge instead for that round and if she gives you an A, your meter goes down by 50% while a B knocks it down 20%.
Depending on how many disguises you complete, you’ll get a different comment each time.
Something may happen if you can clear enough to get the top rating.
